The A319 fills the gap between Northwest's DC9s and their 757s. It is quite a nice aircraft, eventhough I personally prefer the DC9 for two reasons: a) You have a 2-3 configuration, which is good when you travel with just one companion and b) The DC9s allow use of the thrust reversers for push back from the gate, which means that you won't get delayed due to a lack of ground equipment.
Some of your overhead storage is taken uo by emergency equipment and demo as well as service items. Otherwise these are really fine First Class seats.
Nice First Class seats.
Some complain that noise can filter in from the Economy cabin. On longer flights with meal service you may not get a choice of food in these seats, since you'll be among the last ones served.
Very nice bulkhead seats. There is no wall in front of you, but just a curtain that easily allows you to stretch your legs into First Class. Couples love these seats for obvious reasons.
Row 8 has limited recline. The window seats do not recline at all. Avoid them if possible.
While Northwest's Economy Class is not the most luxurious, these are acceptable seats.
Row 9 is the exit row with plenty of legroom and a full recline.
Not only are these seats really noisy - they also have a limited or no recline and in some cases a reduced legroom. Avoid them if you can!!!
